MENOPAUSE DAILY

February 24, 2025 By Liz Pilotto

Many women suffer debilitating effects with perimenopause and menopause. In keeping life simple here are some things to consider. First and foremost diet is essential. This time of life can lead to bone loss. Calcium and vitamin D are key. Eat a well balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, lean proteins and healthy fats. Healthy organic fats meaning olive oil, seeds, nuts and fish.

There are natural supplements and teas that are said to help with the side effects of menopause. Make your own tea blend for a relaxing sip or buy one already infused for you.

*Black Cohash

*Moringa

*Chasteberry

*Red Clover

*Wild Yam (as an extract or tincture)

If I were going to make my own morning tea I would make sure it contained Moringa tea, Red Clover and Chamomile teas. Yes, I would buy these teas separately and brew them together.

Let’s talk *ESSENTIAL OILS for perimenopause and menopause. There’s a long list of essential oils because the symptoms can go on and on and on.

*Clary Sage – hormone balancer

*SclarEssence – hormone balancer

*Peppermint – cool off

*Lavender – sleep and cool off

*Geranium – mood swings

*Neroli – libido and chill

*Frankinsense – help balance hormone levels

*Chamomile – contains phytoestrogens which are plant estrogens like our human estrogens. Camomile may help with hot flashes, anxiety, sleep and calm.

*Fennel – another phytoestrogen helping with hot flashes.

*Bergamot – anxiety and stress

*Sandalwood – anxiety, mood swings and sleep disturbances

*Patchouli – mood and emotional support

DIFFUSE these oils morning, noon and night.

Put them in Epsom Salts for a soothing BATH.

One great way to get a number of these essential oils into your daily life is to make an anti-aging FACE and NECK oil.

Here’s the one I make for my self:

Organic CaCay oil as a carrier (30 ml. bottle) click here http://Amazon.com (CaCay)

Rose Hip oil another carrier oil can be used for hot flashes (10 ml. Used in the recipe)

Argon oil for helping with skin hydration (10 ml. Used in the recipe) click here http://Amazon.com (mountain top)

The essential oils in the blend:

Frankincense

Lavender

Sandalwood

Geranium

Neroli

Patchouli

I would use the 1 oz. bottle CaCay oil and 10 ml. of the Rose Hip oil and 10 ml. of Argan oil making  the total carrier oils add to 50 ml. in total.

Now it is up to you what you want the percentage to be when combining the essential oils.

For example:

75 essential oil drops make it a 5% solution. Double that it is a 10% solution.

THE RECIPE

5 drops Patchouli

10 drops Neroli

10 drops Geranium

10 drops Sandalwood

20 drops Frankincense

20 drops Lavender

Add the 1 oz of Cacay (30ml), Rose Hip 10 ml. and Argan oil 10 ml.  Those three carrier oils will add up to 50 ml. of oil.

Use the oil on your face and neck morning and night.

The essential oil blend *SCLAR ESSENCE contains Peppermint, Clary Sage, Fennel, and Sage Lavender essential oils. This can be placed on the bottom of your feet or taken in a capsule.

Put a few drops in a gelatin capsule and fill it up the rest of the way with some olive oil.

*PROGESSIVE PLUS is a wonderful essential oil blend that contains:

  • Copaiba is extremely high in β-caryophyllene, which has been well documented for its anti-inflammatory actions. It helps to elevate the mood and lift depression, and it may amplify the effects of the other essential oils in the blend.
  • Sacred Frankincense is regenerative to the skin. It is often used to help with depression and mental fatigue and to increase spiritual awareness and aid meditation.
  • Cedarwood is nourishing to the skin. With its high concentration of sesquiterpenes, it is calming and relaxing to both mind and body.
  • Bergamot is helpful for an oily complexion and for acne. It is often used to help relieve anxiety, depression, stress, and tension.
  • Peppermint is an anti-inflammatory to the nerves and to damaged skin and tissues.
  • Clove is antiseptic and promotes the healing of skin. It is also a mental stimulant.
  • Coconut Oil soothes dry skin, increases the production of collagen, and improves the skin’s protective barrier.
  • Vitex (Chaste Tree) Oil may stimulate the production of progesterone.
  • Wild Yam Root Extract may help balance estrogens levels. (Reference Guide for Essential Oils)

DIRECTIONS

  • Apply 2–4 drops to the stomach, feet, or inner thighs each day.
  • Rotate application sites to avoid applying to the same area 2 days in a row.
  • For added effect, 1–2 extra drops may be applied.
  • Do not exceed 2 applications per day.

SERIOUS DETOX-BATH with YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS

February 4, 2025 By Liz Pilotto

The most amazing bath recipe given to me by a friend, I added the essential oils. It has healing salts and valuable essential oil essences that can be an experience better than the sea. The aroma alone, as you close your eyes, while wrapped in the heat of the water will bring about bliss. If the tub has sauna jets turn them on to allow all the salt to penetrate every bit of your sinuses. Just breathe, bathing the sinuses with the healing salts and essential oils. As you are laying back, eyes closed, breathing, take the ginger wrapped in cheese cloth, squeeze repeatedly. This will help release tension and give each hand a nice bit of exercise they truly deserve.

This is a detox-bath that should be done twice a week for 4 weeks.
The bath should be as hot as you can take.
Soak in the hot bath for 20 minutes.

INGREDIENTS for DETOX-BATH
*3#s canning salt (I bought mine on Amazon).
*3#s baking soda,
*2 tbs. fresh ground ginger wrapped in a piece of cheese cloth
*1 cup of Epsom salt to add essential oils.

In the cup with the Epsom salt add the essential oils. Mix them in.
Add all the ingredients above to the hot bath water. Get in and soak for 20 minutes.

**Just up for a SIMPLE MINERAL BATH SOAK, reduce the ingredients to:
1 cup each canning salt, baking soda and Epsom salt.
add the essential oil to the Epsom salt, never directly into the water.

Recipes for adding essential oils:
SORE MUSCLES:
2 drops each Young Living Cypress, Wintergreen, and Lavender.
ACHES AND PAINS:
2 drops each Young Living Peppermint, Marjoram, Copaiba.
CRAMPING MUSCLES:
2 drops each Young Living Lemongrass, Peppermint, Rosemary.
If you are experiencing any kind of inflammation always add Copaiba.

“SKIN CONDITIONS”
DRY SKIN:
7 drops Young Living Lavender and 5 drops Geranium.
ECSEMA:
2 drops each Young Living Lavender, Melaleuca (tea tree), Thyme.
ITCHING OR RASHES:
2 drops each Young Living Peppermint and Melaleuca, 7 drops Young Living Lavender.
UPTIGHT OR STRESSED:
7 drops Young Living Peace and Calming or
7 drops Young Living Stress Away.

Most importantly, in wanting to detox your body drink “NingXia Red” everyday.
This juice, made out of wolf berries, essential oils and other berries is a tremendously high anti-oxidant. It can help remove the free radicals from our bodies which can destroy our cells, lead to disease and play havoc with our bodies. I have experienced this drink aiding in my improved immune system, energy, youthfulness and a general feeling of GREAT.

DRY BODY BRUSHING

February 3, 2025 By Liz Pilotto

Since the skin is the largest organ in the body it is important to help it with its daily detoxification. A quick 5 minutes of body brushing can do more than just detox the skin.

Why take that 5 minutes to body brush before showering?

Increase the circulation to the skin, possibly reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Produces antibacterial substances to protect against infection and enables your body to produce more Vitamin D when exposed to the sun.

Sheds dead skin cells to help efficiently eliminate wastes from your body.

Improves vascular blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. Massaging lymph nodes helps shed excess water and toxins.

Stimulates nerve endings in the skin.

Helps muscle tone.

Helps for a more sound sleep.

Get started:

You will need a high quality brush made from natural materials.

Do it on dry skin before bathing.

Use light but firm circular, upward motions.

Begin at the ankles moving upward to the heart because that is the natural flow of the lymph. Always brush up and in the same direction.

Pay attention to all the body parts, ankles, lower legs, thighs, stomach, chest, back, and arms. Always being careful over tender, sensitive body parts. Body brushing should not hurt. Do not body brush it you have sores, a rash, sun burn, etc.

Body Brushing 3 times a week is most beneficial.

Shower after body brushing.

Make your own body oil blend with your favorite essential oils. Apply your body oil from the ankles upward toward the heart keeping that lymph flow going.

My favorite essential oil body blend:

15 drops @ Lavender, Frankincense, Orange

10 drops @ Patchouly, Geranium and Neroli

2 oz. Organic Argan oil

2 oz. Organic Almond oil

Mix together in a dark glass spray bottle.

A DIFFERENT LOOK AT DEMENTIA

January 2, 2025 By Liz Pilotto

This information is not to take the place of medical advice.

The immune system, along with inflammation, are being looked at to treat or prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. Depression and brain injuries are thought to be the possible sources of chronic inflammation, which may lead to the disease process of dementia. Medically, there is no successful treatment for dementia. Study and research is needed to understand what types of treatment for inflammation should be employed and at what stage of the disease process it should be given.

Our thoughts can affect our immune systems. We want good ones, of course. Aromatherapy can help us raise our MHz frequency to produce a greater immune system by elevating a feel good response. Essential oils are known to have anti-inflammatory properties, helping decrease inflammation. Essential oils contain anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. Antioxidants may help reduce the harmful effects of inflammation.

“Together our findings suggest that brain inflammation is not just a bystander phenomenon, but a strong contributor to disease progression.” Heneka says.

“Therefore, targeting this immune response will be a novel treatment modality for Alzheimer’s.” (DZNE-German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases.)

“Inflammation drives progression of Alzheimer’s: A molecularcomplex of the immune system promotes aberrant aggregation of proteins.” (ScienceDaily. ScienceDaily, 20 December 2017.)

“The blood-brain barrier is the barrier membrane between the circulating blood and the brain that prevents certain damaging substances from reaching brain tissue and cerebrospinal fluid. The American Medical Association (AMA) determined that if they could find an agent that would pass the blood-brain barrier, they would be able to heal Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. In June of 1994, it was documented by the Medical University of Berlin, Germany, and Vienna, Austria, that sesquiterpenes have the ability to go beyond the blood-brain barrier. High levels of sesquiterpenes are found in the essential oils of cedarwood, vetiver, sandalwood, black pepper, patchouli, myrrh, ginger, vitex, German chamomile, spikenard, galbanum, and frankincense. Some blends containing these oils include 3 Wise Men™, Acceptance™, Brain Power™, Forgiveness™, Gathering™, Harmony™, Inspiration™, Into the Future™, and Trauma Life™” Reference Guide for Essential Oils

You can diffuse these oils alone or in combination.

*A blend to diffuse:

4 drops of Patchouli

15 drops Frankincense

7 drops Vetiver

5 drops Lemon

You can put Brain Power on the bottom of your feet.

A drop of Cedar-wood on the top of your head.

A drop of Frankincense to the roof of your mouth.

KNOWING THE ESSENTIAL OILS  NOTE

January 1, 2025 By Liz Pilotto

All essential oils have what is called “a note”. The notes are called a top note, a middle note and a base note. When blending essential oils, to get the best synergistic aroma, the blend will contain at least one essential oil from the top note, middle note and base note. Top notes evaporate more quickly and base notes more slowly. The top note aroma is noticed first before the middle and the base note scent. The base note will linger on allowing for a longer lasting blend. This can be a fun thing to play around with. First decide on what your blend is being used for, that will determine what essential oils you will want to pick. So, for sleep you may go with Bergamot, Lavender, Vetiver. Of course you can pick as many essential oils as you please.  Rule of thumb is your blend will contain 30% top note essential oils, 50% middle note essential oils and 20% base note essential oils. Three to five essential oils in an average blend is nice.

*Here’s an allergy blend for the diffuser: 6 drops Lavender, 10 drops Basil, 4 drops Eucalyptus.

TOP NOTE OILS:

Basil, Bergamot, Blue Cypress, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lemongrass, Lime, Melissa Neroli, Orange, Peppermint, Tea Tree

MIDDLE NOTE OILS:

Bergamot, Black Pepper, Blue Cypress, Blue Tancy, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Chamomile, Citronella, Clove, Cypress, Eucalyptus Geranium, Ginger, Balsam, Hyssop, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Manuka, Melissa, Myrrh, Neroli, Peppermint, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Ylang Ylang

BASE NOTE OILS:

Angelica, Balsam, Copaiba, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Frankincense, Ginger, Helicrysum, Myrrh, Patchouli, Rose, Ginger, Sandalwood, Spikenard, Vanilla, Valerian, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang

FOSTERING GOOD THOUGHT WITH THE BREATH

December 16, 2024 By Liz Pilotto

BREATHE DEEP THINK GOOD THOUGHTS
Prana or life force is key to our existence. Often heard is the phrase, “Just take a deep breath.” Those words are beneficial in many ways. “A deep breath has been shown to slow the heartbeat, lower or stabilized blood pressure, reduce levels of stress hormones in the blood, and improve immune system function.”
Better Health Chanel
Frequency is another important factor for your best life. “Cells that vibrate at a higher frequency are full of energy and are super healthy, reflecting how we feel. A healthy human body has a vibrational frequency range of between 62-70 MHz. Human cells can start to change (mutate) when their frequency drops below 62MHz, then illness sets in.”Apr 19, 2020

There are plenty of things that you can do to raise your vibrational frequency to help you feel better. Here are some things you can do to increase your vibrational frequency naturally.
1. Listen to the right music – Music is very influential to the way your body vibrates. If you listen to songs that calm you, it might help your vibrational frequency, or songs with a strong beat can motivate you to achieve more.
2. Be One with Nature – Take a hike or spend time in pleasant surroundings and find your zen. When you get into nature you may feel a sense of gratitude that positively affects your frequency!
3. Meditation – A guided meditation can help you clear negative thoughts and replace them with positive affirmations that can increase your vibrational frequency, elevating your mood and giving you energy. Find joy, happiness, and love within yourself.
4. Invest in your inner peace – Aromatherapy is a method of healing that uses the energy of plants in the form of pure concentrated essential oils to boost health and wellbeing. Diffusing essential oils in the home using a diffuser can have a positive, uplifting frequency increasing the affect on your whole family.
5. Aromatherapy has been used since ancient times to promote feelings of relaxation and calm. Inhaling pure essential oils has been demonstrated to help alleviate stress, insomnia, and depression. This natural solution works by stimulating areas within the brain that are responsible for our emotions. YES! Essential oils may be just what you need to raise your vibrational frequency and assist you to feel happier and healthier!
Remember, your thoughts attract things into your life. Thinking positively will raise your vibrational frequency and bring more positive things into your life. If you feel like your vibrational frequency is low, give some of these things a go and start improving your health within your body and minimise interacting with the things that emit negative vibrations that drag you down!

OUR AURA..
How to clear your aura or subtle body energy (the energy that surrounds your body).
*I love using Orange Essential Oil because it is so uplifting. Use your intuition and pick the essential oil that calls to you.
First you will put a few drops of the essential oil into the palm of your hand. In a clockwise direction with a finger of your other hand circle the essential oil three time around. Bring both hands to your face and take 3 full, deep breaths in of the oil. From the top of your head to your feet make sweeping motions all around your bodies aura.
You can also do this to another person. Do the first three steps and add a fourth of allowing the person to also deep breathe the essential oils in. Follow the last step of brushing it through their aura all around their body from head to toe.

WHAT ARE ADAPTOGEN ESSENTIAL OILS

December 2, 2024 By Liz Pilotto

An adaptogen essential oil can either stimulate or relax your nervous system depending on what your body needs.  So adaptogen essential oils help the body to adapt to external stress and normalize bodily function.  Not all essential oils have this duo personality. Here are the adaptogenic essential oils to reach for if you are unsure of what your body or mind may need.

LAVENDER is a universal oil that has traditionally been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need. If in doubt, use lavender.  It has calming, sedative, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties. My most go to essential oil to put in a blend is Lavender.

LEMON promotes clarity of thought, and invigorates. Studies find it boosts immunity, helps with relaxation and reduces depression.

PEPPERMINT purifies and stimulates the conscious mind. It also improves mental accuracy

BERGAMOT helps relieve anxiety and lifts your mood.

GINGER is gentle and stimulating to help boost energy level.

It helps with physical energy and courage.

CEDAR WOOD  stimulates the limbic brain, the part of the brain which is the center of our emotions. It stimulates the pineal gland which increases melatonin.  It is calming and purifying.

ORANGE is uplifting, it induces relaxation, reduces depression and helps boost immunity.

A blend to create a super adaptive boost would be to combine three of these essential oils together.  For example, combine Lavender, Lemon and Bergamot.

Another way to incorporate these adaptogen essential oils is to know exactly what you need to address and make a blend with that one particular essential oil to address your need and add one of more adaptogen essential oils to that blend boosting the effectiveness of your blend. For example, you are experiencing grief, sadness or loss you can make a blend containing your pick of essential oils known to address those certain issues you are experiencing along with the adaptogen essential oil.

Knowing that Rose, Chamomile, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Frankincense, or Cinnamon essential oils help with grief use any one of these oils to make a blend and add one or two adaptogenic essential oils to your blend.

*A diffuser blend that I would put together to address grief while you sleep would be:

4 drops Chamomile

10 drops Lavender

5  drops Bergamot

10 drops Orange

*A diffuser blend that may help with brain fog could be:

10 drops of Cedar Wood

10 drops of Lemon

10 drops of Peppermint

*A diffuser blend to help with the immune system:

10 drops of Lemon (may help build white blood cells)

10 drops of Orange

10 drops of Clove

CHAKRA AWAKENING

November 30, 2024 By Liz Pilotto

Balancing Our Chakras

In our subtle body live the seven chakras. Each one of these chakras pertain to certain organs in our body and contribute to the emotions we feel.  It is important for these chakras to be balanced so that energy can flow smoothly through our bodies for optimal health in mind, body and spirit. The spiritual energy of the chakras is vital to creating a whole happy, joyous being. Balancing this energy system is important to our emotional and physical health.

Everything is energy. Crystals are vibrating energy to be used in balancing or activating the energy of a chakra. Certain crystals are used in conjunction with a particular chakra to bring all the chakras into harmony allowing them to spin in perfect time and motion. Since each chakra is represented by a color the crystal used for that chakra is usually matched up with the same crystal color.

We can also create Chakra balance and harmony with essential oils. Apply them on the chakra itself, or any place on your body, diffuse them, wear them on aroma therapy jewelry or take a relaxing salt bath.
